St.Teresa’s School Private Tutors

St Teresa’s School uses their own test to assess candidates in English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning.

1. Deadline for registration is in October and the registration form can be found here. Registration forms need to be filled in and emailed to a.charles@effinghamschools.org.
2. Exams day takes place at the start of November where pupils sit all three exams.
3. Interviews with a member of staff online are held on Saturdays either side of the exam date.
4. Scholarship assessment day takes place nearing the end of November.
5. Offers are given the last week of November.

The St Teresa’s entrance exams consist of:

Paper 1:

Verbal Reasoning (45 minutes) – Verbal Reasoning: Measures how well students understand and process words and language. Includes tasks like identifying relationships between words, recognising patterns, and completing analogies.

Paper 2:

Maths (50 minutes) – The Maths paper assesses your child’s arithmetic and reasoning skills. The exam may include the following topics: number, measurement, ratio and proportion, geometry, algebra and statistics. 

Paper 3:

English (1 hour 10 minutes) – This is a written paper that includes a comprehension and a creative writing task.
